Municipal Election Day is Monday October 16, 2017.

Voter Identification

You are eligible to vote if:

  • you are 18 years of age or older
  • you are a Canadian Citizen
  • you have acceptable voter identification

Register to Vote

You will need to bring ID in order to vote. Here is a list of acceptable ID that you need to bring.

There are Alternatives to Identification (Attestation)

  • If you don't have identification that contains your current address and you have a landlord, download  the "Attestation of Residence" form and have your landlord complete it.
  • If you don't have identification and you live in a supportive living facility or treatment centre, download the "Attestation of Residence" form and have it completed by the facility or treatment centre.
  • If you don't have identification and you live in a shelter, download the "Attestation of Residence", and have it completed by the shelter staff.
  • If you don't have identification and are a student living in the University of Lethbridge residences or the Lethbridge College residences, download the "Attestation of Residence for Post-Secondary Student Elector" and have it completed by university or college residence staff.
  • One of the following, issued by the responsible authority of a shelter or soup kitchen:  e.g. attestation of residence, letter of stay, admission form or statement of benefits

Housebound Vote

If you are physically unable to attend a voting station, you may vote in your residence. This service can also be accessed by individuals dependent on accessible transportation.
Requests for this service must be made in advance by Friday, October 13, 2017 by contacting the Election Office at 403 329 7355. You will be advised of an approximate time when the Mobile Voting Station will attend the voter's residence.
